Fire can be used for many things. To keep warm, to destroy, and to purify. Damien Steele is a refiner not of metals, but of himself (no pun intended). With a humble, out going personality Damien never gives up, never stops, never surrenders. He constantly practices his craft and is willing to do whatever it takes to grow his modeling and entertainment career. He doesn't waste time boasting about what he's going to do, but he just shows up. And he shows up in style and with impact. Damien is making his way all over Phoenix as well as pushing his career borders in Los Angeles where he has modeled for the Oscars just a few weeks ago. He's been in countless competitions and can be found on runways, blogs, hair shows, and the like. Not to mention he has a hidden talent for rapping. Damien's career is being built out of the finest of refined Steele (that was a pun).
From the first time I met Damien on India Grasso's shoot (issue 12), it felt like we were good friends. He's the type of guy that makes everyone laugh, is out going, and someone you can trust. Shooting with him was more like a couple of friends hanging out for a couple of hours. Every time I see his image online, I can see the maturity of his craft. His development is obvious. I thought about what keeps him moving up so quickly in his young career as a model. And really it's just consistency. He never stops testing himself. He does almost anything that's put in front of him. That repetition, that time, over and over again, week after week, month after month, year after year is what it takes to be your best. Modeling is certainly an internal game, and Damien's focus is evident that he's playing this game for keeps.
