The high desert mountains of Las Vegas have been called home for Guinwa Zeineddine now for a few years, and last year in Phoenix she ascended to the top of the Arab pageant world as Miss Arab USA with elegance and grace. The humble Guinwa is currently a double major studying Pre-pharmacy and communications at UNLV (University of Las Vegas), and has high hopes to use her crown to change the perception of Arab women world wide. Her passion for education is only second to her devotion to her faith and love of God. Inspiration has over flowed onto a new non-profit organization that Guinwa is currently working to build. She wants to establish scholarships for young Arab woman as well as provide free medication for the less fortunate. This bright young woman absolutely loves her culture, and celebrates it at every opportunity, and also goes a step further to share and educate the world and her community about Arab culture by having an Arab presence on various community fundraising events and sororities.

I was the producer for the Miss Arab USA pageant when Guinwa was in the running, and after she won I had a chance to get to know her. My first impression of Guinwa was that she is so intelligent, so well spoke, so confident, and stunningly beautiful inside and out, that their is absolutely nothing that can stop this young woman from accomplishing anything she desires. Her beliefs, her family, and culture comes through in everything she does and says. It's rare to meet someone so genuine in her position. We trusted each other artistically immediately. From there, it was about capturing the true essence of who this confident Arab woman is. We chose the mountain location because I thought it really says something, that such a young woman, with the right mixture of determination, hard work, and heart, can rise to the top of a world class stage. Now that she's risen to the top of Miss Arab USA, Guinwa has other mountains to conquer. Nevertheless, you know what they say, "You can't keep a good queen down!" For now Guinwa is Queen of the Mountain, and we wish her well on her next conquest. Long live the Queen!
